Enniscrone Golf Club

“Greetings and a belated thank you from the States; I wanted to thank the club for a great visit to Enniscrone during the Coyne Cup in September. The course is unbelievable, feeling like I could lose directions within the dunes, not knowing where the ocean was, a brilliant design.” Scott Wilson, PGA Streamsong Resort, Florida

“One of my favourite links courses in the world. My 32 on the back nine will always be fondly remembered! Fabulous course, wonderful people. Wish I didn’t live so far away! ” Kathryn McGarvey, Canada

” Cracking course, cracking grub & beer, & cracking welcome. 3 or 4 of, in my opinion of the best links holes in the world. They will break your heart. Magic!!!!!  If you don’t like this you don’t like golf.” Dave Gallagher, U.K.

“My brother and I will be in Ireland next June and Enniscrone is one of the courses we’ll be playing. Can’t wait!”
Fran Steffler, U.S.A.

“Can’t wait to get back to Ireland for a game on the best links in Europe”

Strandhill Golf Club

Strandhill is situated at the western base of Knocknarea on the Cúil Irra peninsula, 5 miles west of Sligo town and is Atlantic facing. Although the main part of the village lies within the townland of Strandhill, it also extends into the townlands of Killaspugbrone and Carrowbunnaun. The area is well known for surfing.

Here at Strandhill Golf Club, we pride ourselves on the high quality of magnificent golf, superb amenities and outstanding service that we offer our valued customers. We have worked hard over the years to become a staple of the community, and in the process, we have earned recognition as one of the region’s premier golf experiences.

The golf course contains 6,200 yards of undulating fairways & unforgiving shortcuts, this and we promise will be an unforgettable experience by all who play it. The par 70 course is challenging but rewarding!

It also has some superb scenery to admire while playing it – Knocknarea Mountain, Culleenamore Strand and Strandhill Beach all act as back-drops during an 18 hole round.

Galway Bay Golf Resort

“This is a true championship golf course with a fair test of golf to all who discover this gem. Washed on three sides by the wild Atlantic ocean laden with pot bunkers together with natural water hazards combines to make Galway Bay one of the truly great courses of Ireland.” – Christy O’Connor Jr.

It was great to play this magnificent course in June. With the fantastic new clubhouse and a course surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Galway Bay has been the best course that we have played since arriving in Ireland. Great test for myself as high handicap golfer and my son who plays off 9. The Guinness and the fish and chips afterwards was the perfect finish before we headed back to Oranmore.  Johnny English

While staying with our relations in Galway, we decided to play Galway Bay before heading back to the UK. Great Taylor Made Hire Clubs and a golf buggy made it easy for us to enjoy this wonderful golf track. The sunset in the bay, immaculate greens and a nice cool pint made for us wanting to come back again. Highly recommend a visit especially with the excellent new clubhouse, bar and restaurant facilities.  Andy Tookey, Kent UK

Wesport Golf Club

“The nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable.” Fred Hawtree, Golf Architect.

In 1908 Westport golf club was founded at Trafalgar Park, now Known as Horkan’s Hill, just a ten-minute walk from Westport town centre. 1815 saw a new course being developed at Old Carrowholly and in 1927, with a membership of 80, the first Pavilion was built. Golf continued to be enjoyed by countless numbers on this 9 hole course until 1973.

By the mid-sixties, with the game of golf becoming ever more popular all over the world, new lands were sought for an 18 hole course. During the following number of years and involving much deliberation and debate some 250 acres on Lord Sligo’s estate were acquired and Fred Hawtree commissioned to design a championship golf course.  Course construction started in 1971 and continued until 1973 and was officially opened by An Taoiseach, Mr Liam Cosgrave in 1975.

Connemara Golf Links

Golf on the edge of Europe…Connemara Championship Golf Links, the only links course in County Galway, is nestled between the scenic splendour of the 12 Bens mountain range and the rugged Atlantic Ocean. Connemara was Voted Best Links Course in Connaught in 2013, 2016 and 2018 by Golfer’s Guide to Ireland. This beautiful isolated links course, founded in 1973 and designed by Eddie Hackett lies to the West of Clifden along the Wild Atlantic Ways signature discovery point of Derrigimla Bog and Mannin Bay Blueway.

From the testing dog leg opening hole through to the breathtaking back 9, the course is a test for all levels. In 2000 an additional 9 holes were unveiled to add a further dimension to the exhilarating Connemara golfing experience. In 2005 US Businessman and aviation record breaker Steve Fossett and co-pilot Mark Rebholz re-enacted Alcock and Brown’s first non-stop flight across the Atlantic, landing on the 8th fairway!
When playing Connemara you are always mesmerised by the landscape around you, whether it’s Slyne Head Lighthouse, the 12 Bens Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean or Grainne O’Malleys Castle, there is something special on every hole.
